Nisha Kale- President

Nisha Kale is a Senior studying Law History and Culture, minoring in Natural Sciences and Human Rights. She has been on the debate team since her freshman year and has previously served as the Treasurer and Vice President. She loves being on the debate team to learn new things and intellectually yell at people! Besides debate, Nisha is an intern at the USC Shoah Foundation, a research assistant at the Brain and Creativity Institute, a cycling instructor at USC Lyon Center, and Fundraising Chair for the USC Triathlon Team. In her free time, she likes doing triathlons, salsa dancing, riding her bike, and talking to her roommate/debate partner about everything.

Niroop Rajashekar- Vice President

Niroop Rajashekar is a junior from Manhattan, Kansas majoring in biochemistry. He is the Vice President of the British Parliamentary Debate Team. Niroop has been debating with the BP team since he was a freshman and is thankful for all the friends he has made through debate. In addition to debate, Niroop is a researcher in Dr. Lin Chen’s laboratory and a Supplemental Instruction Leader for the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry classes. In his free time, Niroop enjoys reading about Roman history and listening to alt-Country music.

Sameer

Sameer Nair-Dessai – Treasurer

Sameer is the BP Debate Team’s Treasurer for the 2017-18 Fall Semester. He is a sophomore double majoring in International Relations and Economics and is particularly interested in developmental economics and human capital. In his free time, he enjoys football, tennis, and soccer.

Hannah Hunt – Director of Curriculum

Hannah is a sophomore double majoring in Political Science and Comparative Literature. She loves debate because it helps her understand different perspectives surrounding controversial issues, and she is very excited to serve as the Fall 2017 Director of Curriculum to help build on the team’s development! Additionally, Hannah competes for the USC Equestrian team, and is a member of both the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity and USC’s Thematic Option Honors Program. Most of what Hannah does in her free time revolves around eating food, and she has recently just finished ranking all the best spots to get mac n cheese on campus.

Maya Harmon – Director of Tournaments

Maya is a senior double majoring in Political Science and Law, History, & Culture and minoring in Race, Ethnicity, and Politics. She loves debate because it is intellectually challenging, but most importantly because her she loves her team.  In her free time, Maya likes hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and going to concerts.

Denny Baek – Director of Membership

Denny is a sophomore double majoring in Political Science and Economics. He’s in BP Debate because he loves the people he works with, having stimulating conversations, and hearing himself speak. In his spare time he can be found swimming, rock climbing, and singing loudly in the shower. He is excited to work with all the new members joining BP this coming year and planning exciting group get togethers for the team.
